Junior & Senior Infants Spring Nature Walk
2nd Class investigating trees in the playground on World Tree Day.
4th/5th class grew a 'garden in a jar' as part of Biodiversity week. This demonstrated how the water cycle works. Our winners of the best produce of watercress were - Ciara, Cian, Orla, Patrick and Labhaoise.
Biodiversity Action Day - 16th June 2015
Projects based on Biodiversity presented to all classes, e.g. Animals of the Rainforest, The Artic etc.
Bird-houses and hedgehog house put in place, taking note of suitable conditions.
Logs placed in different areas of the school environment.
All classes taught a lesson based on biodiversity.
Infant and First Classes took part in a 'Biodiversity Teddy Bear's Picnic.
Infant Classes in conjunction with Fourth Class made clay bird-feeders to be hung around the school.
Re-do Biodiversity survey.
All classes did an art-based activity to be sent to Sherkin Island Marine Station.
Sixth Class went on a River Visit as part of Biodiversity Day.
Fifth Class took part in a school clean-up and gardening activities.
